The Farewell Tour Fashions

Meghan and Harry's journey to LA began in the United Kingdom, many fans started referring to the royal exit as Megxit. There were mixed feelings about their exit from the royal family- personally, we were here for it! This just meant that the Duchess herself was returning to her home town, Los Angeles. Could this also mean that she was returning to the big screen? Although no official announcement has been made for a Meghan return to the big screen, we are patiently waiting and will keep you updated on any news of her return to Hollywood. Be sure to sign up for updates here.

It was during the Royals exit, however, that we got some of the most fashionable Meghan moments to date. Not only was Meghan the epitome of fashion and class, but the royal exist was so classy and so successful Vanity Fair referred to it as: "...a master class in revenge-dressing." We must admit, "revenge-dressing" is one of our new favorite terms. Check out some of Meghan's' most epic fashion moments during the farewell tour below.

One of the best looks to date was Meghan's green dress look (left image). The dress was an ensemble by Emilia Wickstead and consisted of an effortless cape over Meghan's shoulders. The dress was paired with nude pumps by Aquazzura to give it a classy, timeless look. The hat was by designer William Chambers, whilst the purse was Gabriela Hurst. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were attending the Commonwealth Day services, the Royals last scheduled service before moving to Los Angeles. We love this look for many reasons. First and foremost we think that the emerald green really compliments her skin- we think the color choice was bold but must admit she has inspired us to try more bold and monochrome choices in our own wardrobe. We are also obsessed with this look because she has reminded us of the power of a nude pump. Nude pumps are an amazing optical illusion to make your legs look long and slim. Nude pumps are a classic piece for every closet.

Another major look for us was the red ensemble she wore, also paired with an over-the-shoulder cape (image right). While attending the Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Duchess wore a breathtaking floor-length dress with matching red cape, red shoes and red clutch. This was the Royals, second to last royal engagement. Meghan left a truly lasting impression with this dress by designer, Safiyaa.  Her shoes were Stuart Wietzman, also known as the "Leigh" pumps, while her earrings were Simone Rocha and clutch was Manolo Blahnik.

Both look left lasting impressions of Meghan's timeless class and effortless fashionista look. Which Megxit look was your favorite? Comment below!

The Tweet

One of the most epic moments of the Meghan and Harry move to Los Angeles would have to be the president welcoming their stay. Famously, President Donald Trump tweeted out that the United States would not be paying for the royals to relocate stating: "I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must!".

The Royals were quick to respond, releasing their own announcement stating they had no plans to have California pay for anything, in fact, they released a statement with their own plans. A spokeswoman for the couple responded, "“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to ask the US government for security resources." In fact, their entire move is said to be privately funded by the couple, ".  As always, the Royals of Sussex are on top of it!

Charity Work In The U.S.

In true royal fashion, the Royals of Sussex have made it a point to continue their charitable ways. There have been reports that the power couple has poached an executive from the Melinda Gates Foundation to not only be the head of their team but also serve their foundation. Catherine St-Laurent is the newest member of the Sussex team, the Royals state: "Her leadership and proven track record working within two organization that has a tremendous impact in the world- the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Pivotal Ventures- make her an incredible asset and we are excited to have her on our team."

Although there is no word yet on what the foundation will entail or what part of the community they will be working on- we are excited that they have taken the first step in hiring an incredible recruit. We will be sure to keep you updated on any news regarding the Royals of Sussex's new foundation.

So where in L.A. are they living?

Although the specific whereabouts of the couple are unknown, we at DuchessLA have a couple of theories. There are theories that the couple is staying in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, or even Hollywood. The most recent theory was that the couple is laying low in Tyler Perry's mansion in Beverly Hills. Tucked in the Beverly Ridge Estates, the couple is sharing the enormous 22 acre home that is said to be guarded by a 24/7 security team. The whopping 25,000 square foot home is centrally located and is said to have views of West Hollywood AND Pacific Palisades. Wow!
